Spoons For Spoonies

It’s been a few months since we have been able to carve spoons with our friends at Bear River Woodcraft. This was a craft that we wanted to learn, to help improve our carving skills and to make cool spoons for our family and friends.

Evan Hebenstreit moved down from Washington last year and brought his spoon carving craft with him. He also started Spoons for Spoonies, an international community of spoon carvers and wellness advocates. “Spoonie” is a term for those who battle chronic illness/disability. This talented group of spoon carvers make spoons and write encouraging notes to Spoonies. Pretty awesome if you ask me!

Check out Bear River Woodcraft, and the wonderful world of spoon carving for yourself! Evan is an amazing teacher and community builder. We thank him for helping raise awareness by sharing his craft with us and the world!
